Thinking of Retirement? 

 As you prepare for your next exciting chapter, please review important information below.

 RSFH Retirement

  • To qualify for retirement status at RSFH, you must meet the following criteria:
    • 15 years of service, and
    • 55 years or older
  •  With this status, you are eligible to receive the 403b match and discretionary match for the year, without needing to work until December 31.
  • You are also eligible for a gift catalog as an expression of our appreciation.
  • If you reach a milestone anniversary during your year of retirement, you may choose to receive your service award badge accent.

 For teammates who do not meet this criteria, the benefits noted above do not apply.  All of the information below applies to all teammates separating from the system.

Health, Dental & Vision Coverage

  • Coverage will continue through the end of the month in which the separation occurs provided the premiums are paid.
  • A COBRA informational packet will be mailed directly to the home address on file within the month following separation of employment.
  • If you are transitioning to Medicare, resources are available at the Trident Area Agency on Aging (www.tridentaaa.org or 843-554-2275).

Transamerica Retirement: 403(B)

  • To discuss your retirement planning, please contact your Transamerica Retirement representative at 843-724-2918.  You may also reach the Transamerica Service Center at 800-755-5801.
  • Please note that your separation date will be sent to Transamerica in the week following your final paycheck.

Bon Secours St Francis Xavier Frozen Pension Plan Participants

  • Contact Transamerica at 800-755-5801 and request to speak with a representative of the Defined Benefit Team to begin the calculation request process, as well as to discuss other inquiries related to this Pension Benefit.

Flexible Spending Accounts

  • Coverage ends on the day your employment terminates with RSFH.
  • Claims may be filed within 90 days of your separation date; however, only services received during your coverage period under the Flexible Spending Account plan with RSFH will be reimbursed.
  • Please contact SHDR at 800-768-4873 with questions.

 Basic Term Life and AD&D Insurance, Supplemental Term Life Insurance, Dependent Life Insurance

  • Coverage ends on the day your employment terminates with RSFH. A Conversion/Portability letter and information will be mailed to you by The Hartford following the termination date.

Short Term Disability

  • Coverage ends on the day your employment terminates with RSFH.
  • Coverage may be continued only if enrolled on the day your employment terminates with RSFH.
  • Please contact the Farmington Company at 800-621-0067 to make billing arrangements for continuation of coverage.

Long Term Disability

  • Coverage ends on the day your employment terminates with RSFH and the benefit is not portable.

Whole Life Insurance

  • Coverage ends on the day your employment terminates with RSFH.
  • Coverage may be continued at your current premium.
  • Please contact the Farmington Company at 800-621-0067 to make billing arrangements for continuation of coverage.

Critical Illness Insurance

  • Coverage ends on the day your employment terminates with RSFH.
  • Please contact the Farmington Company at 800-621-0067 to make billing arrangements for continuation of coverage.

Final Paycheck

  • Any payment due for hours worked will be paid on the next regularly scheduled pay period.
  • The funds will be paid via direct deposit and a pay stub will be mailed to your home.

PTO Payout Eligibility

  • Beginning January 1, 2015, teammates resigning from RSFH with less than two (2) years of service are not eligible for payment of Paid Time Off accruals upon termination.
  • Teammates with two to five years of service will receive 50% of the base rate for payment of Paid Time Off accruals upon termination.
  • Teammates with greater than five years of service will be eligible for payment of Paid Time Off at 100% of the base rate up to the maximum hours allowed per policy.
  • A teammate must give and work out a proper notice, as outlined by policy, to receive his/her PTO payout.
  • If PTO payment is due, it will be paid via direct deposit and will be included in your final check.
  • Teammates terminated for cause are not eligible to receive payment of accrued PTO hours.

Please ensure that all RSFH property is returned promptly to your manager or to HR, preferably on/by the final day of employment. Items to be returned may include:

  • Resignation Letter
  • Parking Card
  • RSFH Purchasing Card
  • Keys (office, building, desk, cabinet)
  • Uniforms
  • Badge/Locator Badge
  • RSFH Issued Phone
  • RSFH Computer/Other Communication Equip.
 Any balances owed may be deducted from your last pay check.
